Jakarta, 10 March 2022 - The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and the Ministry of Religion's Halal Product Assurance (BPJPH) have officially granted Grade A halal certification to all Jiwa Group outlets spread throughout Indonesia. This certification is also a sign that Jiwa Group has implemented and implemented the Halal Assurance System (SJH) with an assessment category of Very Good. Three well-known trademarks under the auspices of the Jiwa Group, namely Janji Jiwa, Jiwa Toast and Jiwa Tea received halal certification symbolically through a press conference held at one of the outlets, Janji Jiwa X Kemang 10, South Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon (10 /3).

At the press conference held, BPJPH handed over a halal certificate to Jiwa Group, followed by a halal determination in the form of a QR Code Barcode and a Halal Assurance Status (HAS) Certificate from MUI. This certificate was received directly by Billy Kurniawan as CEO & Founder of Jiwa Group. With the achievement of a halal certificate for Jiwa Group, it is proof that all products, both food and beverages produced and sold by Jiwa Group, are in line with halal guidelines from MUI, including all raw materials and products used by Jiwa Group are halal patented.

Billy Kurniawan, expressed his enthusiasm to continue to provide the best service for customers. “Since the beginning of our operation, we have realized the importance of consuming halal food in Indonesia. In accordance with one of our values `A Cup for The People`, we are committed to always providing the best service for all customers. Therefore, after going through a gradual process, we finally got this Halal Certificate. Hopefully with this Jiwa Group can provide a sense of security and comfort for all customers who enjoy our products,” he explained.

Also present at the ceremony, Ir. Hj. Muti Arintawati, M.Sc. as the President Director of LPPOM MUI who said that the Halal Assurance System (SJH) given to Jiwa Group had passed a series of audit processes in 2021. “Based on a series of audit processes that we carried out, Jiwa Group is entitled to receive the value status of the Halal Assurance System (Halal Assurance System) with Grade A. This score is obtained from meeting the very good HAS criteria such as Halal policy, Halal management team, Training, Materials, Products, Production facilities, Written procedures for critical activities, Traceability, Handling of products that do not meet the criteria, Internal audit , and Review management.”

Added by Dr. H. Mastuki, M.Ag, as Head of the BPJPH Halal Registration and Certification Center that, “strengthening halal products is one of the important pillars in marketing food and beverages in Indonesia. The halal certification that we provide to Jiwa Group is in accordance with Government Regulation no. 39 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of the Halal Product Assurance Sector.”

Referring to data from the State of the Global Islamic Report in 2020/2021, Indonesia ranks first as the largest market for halal food products in the world, worth IDR 2,046 trillion. Therefore, the food and beverage industry in Indonesia, with a majority Muslim market share, certainly considers halal certificates to be one of the important elements in a domestic product. The halal label is a priority by the majority of Indonesian consumers in the hope of getting a guarantee of a sense of calm and security while consuming food or drinks labeled from the MUI.

The reason is, this label not only examines what is halal or haram from a product, but also examines the manufacturing process from upstream to downstream which is guaranteed to be guaranteed and not contaminated. Jiwa Group also received a Halal Assurance System (HAS) which means that there is a halal management system in the company and also guaranteed production facilities.
